NEWS FLASH Although wearing proper safety equipment, a 12 year old Youth was Killed
on ATV in Flordia on Jan 15, 2011. Mother says that youth had numerous years of go-cart and ATV experience.
However, youth was carrying a 11 year Passenger who was also injured, when
riding in a wooded lot. REMEMBER THAT ONLY SPECIAL ATV'S ARE DESIGNED FOR TWO RIDERS, OTHERWISE, ATV'S ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WITH A PASSENGER

Dr. John (webmaster) calls the two general ways to improve your racing Safety
Package: INs and OUTs. The
INs deal with the equipment utilized, the event and emergency facilities, equipment used for spectator control,
and the location(s) of the event. Improving the INs reduces the hazard
of an accident. The OUTs involve Personnel such as participants, spectators, sponsors,
event and emergency staff, and Decisions for the selection, installation, & maintenance of equipment,
and racing in certain weather conditions. Improving the OUTs reduces the chances
of an accident.
An easy way to think about your
team's Safety Package is to think about a Safety Net used in a racing car window.
Both the horizontal and vertical webbing is necessary for the window net to work properly .
Also, the netting doesn’t work well unless the webbing is stitched together.
The INs of safety are the horizontal webs, the OUTs
of safety are the vertical webs, and the stitching is Maintenance.
Hence knowledgeble teams will be aware of the INs and OUTs of motorsports safety
