KNOWLEDGE (INFORMATION) IS POWER

is the key theme behind Dr John's Book.   Successful racers have learned that “winning is in the DETAILS”, and “details” requires smart decision making.  While writing “Winning More Safely in Motorsports: Checking INs and OUTs” (forthcoming books), Dr. John included the scientific and engineering “tools” that permit the racer to make these smart decisions.  However this added to the complexity and length of the book, and numerous editors recommended putting these “tools” into a Workbook.  Learning how to use these “tools” is an evolutionary process where your comprehension grows with time.  The aim of this workbook is to aid this process for racers, “motorheads” and “week-end warriors”.   Many of you will find the boxed Safety Principles and Safety Ideas sufficient information.   Others will learn more from the numerous illustrations.   Some “diehards” will find comprehension by studying the examples.  Use whatever “works for you” to keep “the shiny side up”.
